EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MALAGA FAIR 2023

The Malaga Fair is one of the most important celebrations in Andalusia and attracts more than a million visitors every year.

It starts on the 12th of August at midnight and lasts until the 19th of August, leaving the 20th of August to celebrate the Children's Day when the attractions have a reduced price and you can enjoy it in 2 places:

-The city centre: Where the daytime fair takes place from 12.00 to 18.00h and where the streets are decorated with lanterns and floral ornaments.

-The Cortijo de Torres Fairgrounds (El Real): Where both day and night you will find 121 booths, food stalls, mechanical attractions for both children and adults... and its beautiful main entrance (this year a replica of the Palacio de la Aduana) that illuminates the enclosure with more than 60,000 light bulbs. This area is open from 13.00h to 6.00h in the morning.

PROGRAMME OF THE FAIR

-Friday 11th August: Fireworks accompanied by drones that will project emblematic images from 23:50h. They will be visible from the city beaches, El Palmeral, Muelle Uno, La Coracha or Gibralfaro Castle, La Farola... and will last approximately 20 minutes.

-Saturday 12th August: Opening of the fair. It will take place in the fairgrounds (El Real) and will coincide with the pilgrimage of the historic centre and the moment when the lights of El Real are switched on, accompanied by different prominent personalities.

-Sunday 13 to Saturday 19 August: Fair every day, day and night.

-Sunday 20th August: Children's Day (reduced price rides).


MAIN PLACES TO SEE

At the Malaga Fair by day you should not miss:

-Plaza de las flores, there are often concerts.
-Alcazabilla Street
-Calle Marques de Larios: entrance to the daytime fair, in front of the port, with a lot of animation.
-Plaza del Obispo
-Plaza de la Constitución (where there are dances during the concerts) * Plaza de Toros de La Malaga: the bullring.
-Plaza de Toros de La Malagueta (with parades of horses and carriages)
-Calle Larios, where you can see the verdiales, a typical fandango of Malaga.

As well as tasting our famous Cartojal (sweet wine which is drunk very cold) or our rebujitos (a mixture of manzanilla wine and lime) and tasting the famous tapas.
