The history of this neighborhood unfolds at the end of the 20th century, when an urban plan to remodel and modernize it failed. Subsequently, the neighborhood stagnated and the decline reached its streets. One of its inhabitants decided that this situation could not continue like this and launched his own project, turned the neighborhood into what it is today. A neighborhood known artist founded the A ssociation Fantasia in Lagunillas , so younger of the neighborhood express and communicate through art. Thus was born the Plaza Esperanza , an old park converted into a basketball court where the youngest expressed their creativity and flooded the neighborhood with their most artistic ideas.
